THE TRUE AGE OF THE EARTH

There is multiple though on how long it took to create the world we live in. But according to the bible, it took 6 days and the 7^th was a rest day, and then using the life length of the man and some other clue we will determine that our world is about 6169 years old.

THE CREATION (6 Days)

Gen 2:2, By the seventh day God completed His work which He had done, and He rested on the seventh day from all His work which He had done.

One of the theory to try to make the planet older is the gap theory. Between Gen 1:1 and 1:2 it would have a gap of many years, enough years to match what the science say. The adept of this theory don't even know how much year and they don't have any verse to support this. They say the world would had been created and then the prehistoric would had happen in that time. At a certain point everyone would had died, the world would had fallen and turn into the formless and void shape. First this theory has a lot of incertitude, plus it bring up a big problem, death before sin. The scripture says that death is the wages of sin, in an other word, there is no death without sin. Also sin came into this world through Adam, therefore the world could not had die before Adam. Rom 6:23, For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. Rom 5:12, Therefore, just as through one man (Adam) sin entered into the world, and death through sin, and so death spread to all men, because all sinned. These 2 verses support what i just said about death.

Another theory is a 1000 years are 1 day for God. So the world would had been created in 6000 years instead of 6 days. First this theory is not even making up with science, so not sure what is the point of it, if it's not to try to destroy the Word of God. We can find that citation in Psalm 90:4 and 2 peter 3:8. In those passages the scripture doesn't make any specification on when it is valid or not, so if we say it means a 1000 years is a day, we have to be consistent with this. It would mean in example, in Leviticus 8:33-35, the consecration of Aaron and his sons, when God ask to Aaron and his sons to not go outside the doorway of the tent of meeting for 7 days, it is actually 7000 years. Is that make any sense? I bet you can answer that. We can't make the word of God say something and than something else when it fit our though. Those 2 passages explain us that God is timeless, 1 day or 1000 years is the same, that doesn't make any difference because He is not restricted by time.

Going back to the beginning of the study, Gen 2:2. When God says that by the seventh day He completed His work, He doesn't say He competed His second work because the first one had died and He doesn't say by the seventh day plus about a couple millions years. God says BY THE SEVENTH DAY, it is pretty clear, any other theory would call God a liar. Not sure if I want to do that, are you? So sticking with the scripture, the world was created in 6 days and on the 7^th day God rested from His work.

FROM ADAM TO ABRAHAM (1946 Y)

From Adam to Abraham we can count 1946 years. You can go read from Gen 5:3-32, Adam to Shem, son of Noah. And Gen 11:10-26, Shem to Abraham. By adding how long they lived one after the other, being father of one another, we can determine that the planet at this moment is 1946 years and 5 days, Adam was created on the 6^th day.

ABRAHAM TO SOLOMON'S DEATH (1236 Y)

From Abraham to Solomon's death we can count 1236 years. I will bring up the reference for each step until Solomon's death, and then we can add the years together to reach 1236 years.

Gen 21:5, Abraham was 100 YO when he got Isaac.

Gen 25:26, Isaac was 60 YO when he got Jacob.

Gen 47:9

That is the story of Joseph, after his brother sold him into slavery and he became ruler of Egypt because of God. Joseph brought his family in Egypt and when Jacob was presented to Pharaoh at the time he arrived, he was 130 YO.

I am using this as a time marker because it is the starting

point when Israel start to live in Egypt. God renamed Jacob Israel in Gen 32:28, father of God's nation. Gen 46:1-7, Jacob's vision reveal to him that God will make a great nation out of him in Egypt. Ex 1:1-7, nation of Israel in Egypt.

So this is the time marker, Jacob (Israel) was 130 YO when he arrived in Egypt.

Ex 12:40, Israel stayed in Egypt 430 Years.

1 K 6:1, 480 Years after Israel came out of Egypt and in the 4^th year of Solomon's reign, they start to build the house of God.

1 K 11:42, Solomon died after 40 years of reign, that is 36 years after they start to build the house of God.

Add the red number and you will get 1236 years.

SOLOMON'S DEATH TO THE BABYLON CAPTIVITY (393,5 Y)

In that time they were 2 list of king, Judah and Israel, I choose to add the time of Judah's king because it bring me to the time of captivity in Babylon.

2 Ch 36:11-21, story of the end of Jerusalem, at the end the city is burnt down and the temple is destroy. The survivor were exile to Babylon for 70 years. Verse 21 bring Jeremiah prophecy, it marks the start of the 70 years.

Add all the time each king reign, the result is 393,5 years.

This is from Solomon's death to the Babylon captivity.

FROM CYRUS THE GREAT TO OUR DAY (2593,5 Y)

Cyrus the Great reign start in 539 BC, we are in 2020 AD. There is no year zero so 539 + 2019 = 2558 years. In the bible a year is 360 days, we can see it in the story of the flood in Genesis and in the story of the woman hide from the Dragon in revelation, Convert 2558 years from a 365 days/year to a 360 days/year and you obtain 2593,5 years.

THE PLANET AGE

Just add all the section we just talk about together. 1946 + 1236 + 393,5 + 70 + 2593,5 = 6239 years. According to the bible the earth is 6239 years and 5 days :). God bless you!!!
